Security Permissions

<p><br/></p> <h2>To Edit Permissions on a Group:</h2> <p><br/> 1. Select the Security Group you would like to edit then navigate to <strong>Profile Icon > Permissions</strong>. <br/> <br/> 2. Check the appropriate permissions and click <strong>Save permissions</strong>.</p> <p><img src="http://m3-helpcontent-trunk.s3.amazonaws.com/Admin/Security/Groups/savepermissions2.png" alt="" title="" /> <br/> <br/> <br/> - Permission Setting Rules - A green check mark exclusively allows permission to the selected item. <br /> - A red x exclusively denies permission to the selected item. - An open unchecked box simply inherits from the parent permission or has no permission by default. <br/> <br/> - Menu based permissions control what a user can do on a specific menu <br/> <br/> - Role based permissions control what a user can do based on their role (i.e. Student/Instructor) <br/> <br/> - Permission inheritance is passed down from the parent menu (i.e.Dashboard and documents inherit from M3) <br/> <br/> - Permissions are set at the most specific layer (i.e. if you allow permission to Dashboard:Edit, but deny Dashboard>Calendar:Edit, the permission to edit the calendar will be denied <br/> <br/></p> <blockquote> <p>A user must have a minimum permission of view on the Dashboard in order to see anything.</p> </blockquote>
